The Hope Project International is a non-profit organization registered in the US. It was established in 2007 with the aim of improving the lives of underprivileged children and their families living in extreme poverty. Our mission is to assist families in Nicaragua, helping them break the cycle of poverty and giving them hope for a better future. Our programs include education, nutrition, vocational training, and humanitarian aid.
Making Change Possible
In Matagalpa, Nicaragua, many children are forced to beg or sell items on the streets due to extreme poverty. Some of these kids have no homes, while others have left their families to work and support them financially. Unfortunately, due to their circumstances, they miss out on the opportunity to receive an education and learn fundamental reading and writing skills. To tackle this critical issue, The Hope Project International has initiated a tutoring program to provide basic knowledge to these children and prepare them for attending public schools.
Change for the Better
Many families struggle to provide enough food for their children, making it hard to stay hopeful. Unfortunately, this is a daily reality for many families. The Hope Project aims to address this issue by providing both physical and spiritual nourishment to those in need. Through the Hope Nutrition Program, we offer a warm meal five days a week to anyone who is hungry. Our five nutrition sites are located throughout Matagalpa, ensuring that our services are accessible to those who need them.
Transforming Lives
In Nicaragua, many young men can't continue their education after elementary school because of their age or family obligations. At the same time, many young women are at risk of exploitation, becoming parents at a young age, or getting into abusive relationships. As a result, a large number of these young people end up poor and likely to become dependent on drugs or alcohol because they lack the skills to support themselves. Our vocational program aims to break this cycle by teaching young people practical skills that will help them build a successful future for themselves and their families. By gaining these skills, students will be better equipped to create a promising future and reach their full potential.
Making Disciples
In May 2021, we launched the Mark Caskey Bible Institute in honor of our dear friend, Mark. He was a spiritual mentor to us and had a vision for training pastors and young people for missions. Despite his battle with cancer, Mark encouraged others to find Jesus, emphasizing the importance of being prepared for eternity. After Mark's passing in November 2020, we were inspired to establish the Institute to meet the critical need for solid biblical teaching in Nicaragua. Many pastors in the region lack formal training and face various challenges. Our goal is to equip them with a deep understanding of God's Word, emphasizing sound biblical doctrine over simply establishing more churches.
